I'm afraid of Virginia Woolf
I gave up on To the Lighthouse. I found it quite laborious and boring to read. I'm not saying I won't try and read her again at some point; I mean, I do feel obligated to make it through one of her books. But I shall save it for my convalescence, when I've nothing but time. I've substituted her with Oscar Wilde and I'm already enjoying it a thousand times more. Who could not love a story about a happy prince, after all?

I really, really must agree! I tried super hard with "Mrs. Dalloway" and "To the Lighthouse." I will say the glorious Vanessa Redgrave at least makes it possible to watch "M. Dalloway" on film. Perhaps we can try the books again when we're OLDER!
